Louise Hollandine of the Palatinate, born in The Hague on April 18, 1622, was a distinguished member of the House of Wittelsbach. As a princess of the Palatinate, she was sister to Electress Sophia of Hanover and niece to King Charles I of England, demonstrating her deep connections to European royalty. Renowned for her artistic talents, she pursued a career steeped in religious devotion, eventually becoming Abbess of Maubuisson Abbey in 1664. There, she oversaw the spiritual and temporal affairs of the Cistercian community for many decades. Louise Hollandine, who also held the title of Duke of Bavaria, passed away at Maubuisson on February 11, 1709, leaving a legacy of both artistic achievement and steadfast faith.
